We were approached by Modus Workspace, the office design and fit-out experts, to help create a fantastic ceiling centrepiece for one of their clients.

The concept form was created and visualised in 3D by Modus to form a strong centrepiece to the area - the challenge for us was to interpret and bring it to reality while keeping it as visually light as possible.

The forms are made from a small section tubular frame which was created using a bespoke jig.

The fabric, patterned using our specialist software, was created to give the hypar shape in as few panels as possible.

The chosen fabric, a Kvadrat material, has good bias movement, helping to create the smooth look as well as some acoustic qualities - to help quieten the area below.
