The large atrium sails shown here were commissioned directly by the National Assembly for Wales for one of the city buildings in Cardiff. The open plan atrium had been transformed into a working area a number of years before, but the overhead sunlight was causing staff using VDU’s and other equipment to experience excessive glare.

The challenge for this design, as well as providing good coverage, was to utilise the existing structure of the building whilst making the Natte canopies look like they were originally designed to be there.

Large scale M16 chemical anchors were installed to provide the fixing positions. A final check measurement was then taken to make sure these were correctly positioned before manufacture and installation took place.

The canopy is removable to allow for cleaning during the autumn months.
